Business of Broadway trek
Join us for our New York City Business of Broadway Trek! Our Trek will be led by our HireEdge Guide Laura Fortner.
Around every Broadway production are professionals dedicated to marketing shows to audiences, driving ticket sales to fill seats, producing programs and advertising opportunities for sponsors, overseeing fundraising activities from donors, and developing merchandising and licensing opportunities to extend the reach and life of each property.
Our Business of Broadway trek will begin with a guided tour of Radio City Music Hall,
for a behind-the-scenes look at the world famous theater nicknamed "the Showplace of the Nation" where the Christmas Spectacular starring the Radio City Rockettes has been featured each holiday season since 1933.
Following our tour, our group will have a private educational session with a marketing executive from Radio City covering their professional background and including a special Q&A with our students.
Next we'll head to PLAYBILL Headquarters for an engaging lunch and learn session to hear about the influential role this company has had on theatergoing audiences since its start back in 1884 and learn about Broadway related roles in news gathering, ad sales, licensing, social media and education.
Our last stop will be to see Music Theatre International (MTI), one of the world's leading theatrical agencies, granting theatres from around the world the rights to perform the greatest selection of musicals from Broadway and beyond. MTI’s Broadway Junior™ shows are 30- and 60-minute musicals for performance by elementary and middle school-aged performers, while MTI’s School Editions are musicals annotated for performance by high school students. MTI works directly with the composers, lyricists and book writers of these musicals to provide official scripts, musical materials and dynamic theatrical resources to over 70,000 professional, community and school theatres in the US and in over 60 countries worldwide.
