Media INDUSTRY Trek
Join us for our New York City Media Trek! Our Trek will be led by our HireEdge Guide Laura Fortner.
We’ll start our day at NBC at 30 Rock in Rockefeller Center, where we will have our own NBC studio tour led by a college-age NBC Page. We’ll see some of the most iconic studios in broadcast TV which may include the sets for NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt, Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night with Seth Meyers. We'll even get to take part in our own mini-production on set captured by studio cameras!
Next we'll visit Complex Networks, the millennial video media powerhouse and home to pop culture brands Complex, Rated Red, Sole Collector, First We Feast, Pigeons & Planes and more! Here we will meet with their Human Resources team and a panel of executives from different departments over our brown bag lunch. We’ll also tour their onsite production facilities where they shoot their original series.
Our last stop of the day will be to News Corp, owner of The Wall Street Journal, Dow Jones, the New York Post, as well as social content agency Storyful and video distribution marketplace Unruly. We'll meet the Unruly team to learn about ways they work with video advertising and premium publishers and get a broader perspective on career paths and the hiring process at News Corp.
