Introducing Careers Unlocked: A New Podcast from HireEdge

Starting your career is one of the most important transitions you’ll make, and also one of the most confusing. Where do you even start? What do employers actually look for? What does a day in a given field really look like? Most students and new grads piece together answers from internet forums, outdated guides, or a single advisor meeting. We wanted to offer something better.

That’s why HireEdge created Careers Unlocked, a new video podcast that brings you honest, firsthand career advice directly from the professionals living it.

To build it, we tapped into the HireEdge network, the professionals, employers, and industry leaders we work with every day, and asked them to sit down and talk candidly about their paths: the decisions that worked, the ones that didn’t, and the advice they wish someone had given them at twenty-two. Our guests span a wide range of industries and paths, from sports, media and entertainment to finance, healthcare, aerospace engineering, and law. What they share is real experience you won’t find in a textbook or a job posting.

Hosting the series is Wake Forest University student Matt Palmieri, whose own Gen Z perspective and genuine curiosity make these conversations feel less like interviews and more like the kind of honest talk you wish you could have with someone a few steps ahead of you.

Careers Unlocked is for college students and recent grads who are figuring out what’s next, whether that means choosing a major, landing a first internship, or deciding which post-graduation job offer to take. It’s for anyone who wants real insight into what different careers actually look like from the people doing them.
